Special Features (Pros) of the Razer Hammerhead True Wireless Earbuds
Quality Design Involved in Earphone
The earbuds of the Razer Hammerhead are incredibly small and lightweight with longer sticks reminiscent to the Apple Airpods. This long stick is very helpful to keep a good grip on them while putting them in and taking them out along with navigating controls.
Unlike many other earbuds, the outside is very minimally busy, instead featuring just the Razer logo which nearly all their products sport prominently.
What I read about people having a hard time understanding the case layout is something I wanted to cover real quick here to help you out. The earbuds appear to go in the wrong sides with the right on the left, and left on the right hand side but this shows their thought.
When you take out the left bud you will do it with your left hand and it will cross your body and the slot will be perfectly aligned for you, with the same story on the right, it may look weird at first but it is super nice.
Additionally, the slots feature magnets which are embedded in them that help to produce a reassuring “click” sound once you’ve successfully got them in place.
Low Latency Connection & Gaming Mode
These earbuds offer an amazingly lag-free connectivity that gamers will appreciate and love, the thing that they will require. This product has been clearly thought out and designed by a team of highly qualified professionals who had the needs and requirements of gamers in mind.
You can switch from the standard low latency into “Gaming Mode” which is where they help drop the latency to super low levels (60ms) helping to ensure no audio gets out of sync from the game or from the video, for people who play games this can be the difference in a win and loss!
Sound Performance
Here is where the ear seal can play a little of a game, some people have bigger openings in their ears and others have a tighter opening, these seem to be very close to the apple sizings from my own experience and what I have read.
The earbuds offer quality, deep bass, regardless of not having a super tight seal on your ear canal and for most it will feel plenty good enough for low-frequency thumping.
While offering a good bass they don’t let you down on definition between this and the vocals and other background instrumentation and the mix works very well, the app does have some ability to assist you in tweaking this though if you find cause to adjust.
Great Connectivity
The Razer Hammerhead offers an instant connect as soon as you open the case with blinding speed. They are also very fast to get the initial connection and configuration done, which gets you to listening much faster!
They also will not stop the source if you take one out, for me this is awesome as it is an irritation for me with the Airpods I have been using as many times I still have to keep an ear open and many times this causes cutouts.
Controls Simplified on Ear
Using the controls is as simple as touching the Razer logo, the panel itself is a fully touch sensitive button and the controls exist on both earbuds for ease of access.
- Tap and hold the panel for half a second to play or pause media, or answer or end calls
- Press and hold for two seconds to summon your phone’s voice assistant
- Double tap to skip forward a track, and triple tap to replay a track
- Triple tapping and then holding the panel activates the gaming mode
These are all very simple to learn and master in the first days without feeling awkward or aggravated but they don’t have a distinctive click or sound from a more physical button so it can take some adjustment.
Drawbacks (Cons) for the Razer Hammerhead True Wireless Earbuds
Battery life is just 4 hours
There are some issues with the lifespan for some people but for me I am hardly one to listen to my earbuds for 4 straight hours, if I was even close I would get slapped upside the head by my wife!
The case charges your earbuds fast though so if you are one to use long sessions on earbuds than you will be up and running again in nearly no time.
Difficult-To-Master Navigation
There is an app to assist which provides a complete tutorial to all the available touch controls on the earbuds and most will be fast to use but overall mastery can take some people a decent amount of time.
One thing many people said is that it took them a bit to understand the difference between a single, double, and long tap based on what they are trying to accomplish. Even once you’ve master this part, it can be difficult to get the exact speed and duration that’s needed.
Every control demands a very specific motion and a difference of a few milliseconds can lead to the earbuds doing something completely different.

Razer Hammerhead True Wireless Reviews
Taking time to dig in and look at the features and benefits is great, but why not take more time to take a look at what real, actual customers, have to say about the product helps to offer more insight.

Independent Reviews and Recommendations for the Razer Hammerhead True Wireless Earbuds
Razer has created a well-tuned set of earbuds. There is a fun, punchy bass that swells and drones when it accommodates drum machines, driving beats and synths. The highs and mids are also nice and clear, and it produces crisp vocals and allows details like gritty samples and textured guitars to come through perfectly.
Tech Times
If you’re a Razer fan I’d say grab a pair, the industrial design is great and they do make a perfect companion to a nice gaming laptop. If you’re not a Razer fan I’d challenge you to find a better quality set of earbuds at a lower price.
Ausdroid
All in all, the Razer Hammerhead impresses. Its app allows you to install firmware and view the battery status along with providing a couple of presets. It might not impress an audiophile though, considering how limited its presets are.
After using these for several days, I barely ever had to worry about the battery. The carrying case takes just 30 minutes to fully recharge, which I found very impressive. The battery level of the earbuds clearly shows up on the top of your phone screen, and thanks to the carry case’s efficient charging mechanism, I’ve never seen it drop below 50%.
